Shopping for my New office

Posted by admin On May - 10 - 2010

Finally I have completed my research and I am on my way to start my own office. It is a day I have been waiting for a few years and it was immense fun buying the computers, setting up the lan, shopping office chairs, wall hangings and a lot of other stuff.

Here are a few tips to increase physical comfort while working.
1. Try to work in a sitting posture. This may surprise you as most of you do work in this position. A year or so ago, I was working in my home and I used to work in a semi sleep position, like in a beach chair. I ended up in a severe backpain phase and it was very miserable.

2. Get the chairs as comfortable as possible.
You spend ten hours or so at the office everyday and this is an important thing to look for. INvest in a very good pair of Office Chairs and have enough back flexibility.

3. Get Chairs with arm rests
When you are doing a lot of desk job and especially when working with computers, arm rests can be so convenient and also takes a lot of pressure of your arms.

4. Keep the computers at a good distance from the edge of the table.
Most people keep their computers close to the chairs and end up in curved wrists and eventually in a lot of pain. Keep your arms parallel and straight through wrists to over come stress on hands and palms.

5. Try Different chairs
I got some good Executive Chairs in my office and I am extremely comfortable in them relative to the earlier chairs I used and my productivity has gone up.

6. Take a walk once in a while.
it is good to take a quick break once in a while, walk a few feet and get back to your chair. It also removes the constant glare to your eyes and also relaxes your body.
